BSBA: Finance at TESC
#1
Hello!

If anyone has the time to take a look at my roadmap and give me your thoughts It would be greatly apprecaited.

A couple of thoughts off the bat: Big Grin

1) Outside of the business classes, I am trying to make this as easy as possible on me. Do you see anywhere I could include more overlapping classes/ easier ones? Smile

2) There are a couple of classes that TESC does not offer and I cant seem to find anywhere else including my Local Community College. They are:

A)Business Finance
B)Advanced Security Analysis and Portfolio management
C)Business Forecasting

As noted, I am also not sure of the additional "Required subjects" right under the area of study.

Thank you!!

For Business Finance - DSST Principles of Finance; TESC will transfer it as FIN-301

As one of your required UL Finance course equivalents, you could take the DSST Money & Banking; TESC will tansfer it as FIN-332

For the core requirements, the CLEPs/DSSTs you've got listed look correct for TESC.

For the Math/Quantitative Business Analysis you could take PreCalculus, either as a test or an online course - a great option for both Math & Statistics is ALEKS (there's a long thread on ALEKS with lots of info so I won't repeat it all here, but I do recommend checking it out.) Also, note that TESC will grant upper level credit for Business Statistics in addition to the required Intro to Statistics; Bus. Stats is basically the same as Intro to Stats plus a few more concepts, so by doing both, it's like getting double credit for the same knowledge. Might be a viable option for you for one of your Bus. electives.

For Science, if it's TESC you're going to have to choose a different test, TESC considers HTYH a human services/free elective, not a science.

Disclaimer: I've got a plan for TESC BSBA/Gen Mgmt (as soon as I finish my BA/Psych), not Finance, so hopefully someone else can chime in and offer more specific info on the Finance specialization. Cheers!

...Managerial Accounting can be taken at Penn Foster. (cheap and fast.)
The advice above is good. I can't suggest any more Finance classes, I too majored in Management.

Good Luck

thank you both for taking the time to look!

It looks like the ones I need to find where to take are some of the specific electives that I really would like to take for my future career... ADVANCED security analysis and portfolio management and business forecasting. I have not seen these online anywhere and they do not have them at my local community college. Might have to substitute. Anyone have any thoughts?

Thank you!
