BSIT Excelsior degree plan
#1
Hello everyone!

I've been looking around the block for a bachelors degree for my job.
I've been in the IT career field for around 7 years now. My job requires a 4 year degree from an ABET accredited university program so thought that excelsior is the best fit to help me get a degree quickly and promote.

I've finished my Sec+ and CySA certification not too long ago and am currently renewing my CCNA.

I'm looking for a detailed class list for Excelsior BSIT using SL or Study.com or Sophia. I can't CLEP where I am at the moment as I live in a remote location.

Honestly any help would be absolutely amazing and I appreciate any input in advance.

I haven't done College in a while so I'm a little nervous.

Thanks everyone!

FYI, you cannot use SDC for any computer classes with Excelsior. You may be able to bring in some from SL, but I'm not sure about that. When I looked at the BSIT at EC, it seemed to me that I'd have had to take all the AOS courses from EC itself. I'm not sure what your certificates transfer in as but they should help cut down on the number of necessary EC classes.

You can complete about 60 credits or more with Sophia for rasonable price.

I think Computer Sciences UL courses will be the problem, if you are not able to take the UEXCEL it will be so difficult.
BSBA: 70% completed (84 credits of 120)

I dont think they will take any alternative credits towards com sci courses due to ABET  accreditation. You will have to bring in RA credits or take courses with EC. But email them maybe they will clarify this for you

Thanks for the reply guys!!  What would you suggest to get the quickest IT degree or CS degree out there?
I can probably talk and work my way into the promotion but just need the paper.

I guess TESU BACS

If it doesn't need to be ABET, either a TESU BACS would work or you could go with WGU.

It depends on your current level of knowledge. You can still use Sophia to get a number of credits to transfer into WGU. WGU may accept more certificates than TESU for their degree(s) as well. https://www.wgu.edu/admissions/transfers...tions.html If your job isn't paying for them, they're also included with some degrees. https://www.wgu.edu/online-it-degrees/it...tions.html

If you pay for a couple months of WGU Academy ($150/mo), you can knock out one certificate and various credits before you're enrolled in the degree itself: https://academy.wgu.edu/

Yes, but they don't seem to take quite as many as WGU does. https://www.tesu.edu/academics/oplr/plr#info-technology Nor does TESU pay for additional certificates like WGU does if that is something that you need/want for your job.

Yes but we dont know if WGU is applicable here. Maybe the person is outside US. Many assume everyone here are from US. But i am sure quite few people are international students
