Hi everyone
I’m sponsoring a student from the Philippines who completed 2 years of Tourism at Cebu Technological University. We’re working on transferring her credits to UMPI (University of Maine at Presque Isle) for their BABA program with concentrations in Project Management and MIS.
UMPI requires a course by course evaluation from a NACES or AICE member. We’re considering IEE because it seems cheaper but I’m wondering
Does UMPI offer any kind of institutional discount or portal with IEE
Or is it full price unless you’re with another school
Also open to advice if SpanTran ends up being more generous for PH credits
One more thing
Can UMPI accept unofficial transcripts at first just to meet the admission deadline
I really want her to be admitted on time while we wait for the official evaluation
Or do all transcripts including high school and college need to be evaluated already before admission
Any help or experiences would be really appreciated

1) Any AICE or NACES member would do, you just need to make sure to get the course by course and one with GPA.
2) For all your records - It has to be official, they will not go through if you send them unofficial institution transcripts.

Do Sophia. Save your money, time, and hassle, don't evaluate the credits. 60+ Sophia credits will get your GED waived. Also, it only costs 99 dollars a month for Sophia.

As discussed in another thread, UMPI will not continue an application without transcripts from all prior universities, and the applicant identified Cebu Tech University in their application. Additionally, they're pretty close to a Business Administration major and Cebu Tech credits may fill spots UMPI no longer accepts Sophia towards.

TLDR version... You create your own spreadsheet with the information on the WIKI, here's the UMPI WIKI and the degree plans.
WIKI: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Un...esque_Isle
PLANS: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Category:UMPI
In more detail... Basically, you need a spreadsheet created with the degree plan for UMPI BABA PM & IS and then link us to it (make it viewable, not editable, with no personal info), all the general education and electives are there, including what classes are needed from Coursera, Sophia.org, Study.com, etc. Just note you want to re-take the 4 classes that can go towards the MAOL (2 of these go towards the MSB with a communications concentration), you need a total of 10 classes, these go towards both the Major and MAOL or MSB.
Look at a trifecta of cost, ease, speed... Work on another trifecta of certs, degree, experience. Certs, such as the ones from Coursera, EdX, etc, Degree, such as your Associates, Bachelors, Masters, Experience from taking classes from alternative credit providers or from online classes through traditional institutions, volunteering, work, etc. UMPI WIKI Link has the classes that transfer from Bachelors to Masters, 3 of 4 will transfer, but I tell people to take all 4 for residency purposes and just in case they don't get the B+ to transfer it in.

Not really, unless you've told them about your academic history. Foreign credits won’t show up in the National Student Clearinghouse or Parchment (US credit system database). Also, the credits from the Philippines need to be evaluated on a case-by-case basis; it's not guaranteed they'll be equivalent to UMPI's course, and Cebu Tech's credits will most likely fill up the electives section of the degree.
But, to answer OP's question, any NACES/ AICE member will do. Avoid WES as it will delay your process. Just go for the cheapest one. Scholaro is a good option. They accept scanned copies as "original". As long as it is not some sketchy colleges (like ENEB/ UI1), they'll most likely have the same results.
Edit: And yes, ACE credits are recognized as "college credits."

On another thread the OP said they had applied and listed the college on the application so yes UMPI will require the official transcript.
Define what you mean by "ACE credits are recognized as college credits." They will always be ACE credits. They will never be RA or NA credits. They are not credits completed at a college.

"ACE credits are recognized as college credits" means that if OP does not want to evaluate their credits, ACE credits on their own count as credits at UMPI as well. And 60 or above Sophia ACE credits will get OP's GED waived.

I also have 2 uncompleted attempts in other countries (HK and UK). Is it safe to exclude them when I apply for UMPI? There will be no problem about academic integrity, esp when they do the checking before conferring the degree, as long as I listed everything related to US? Thanks!

Wow, I'm from Hong Kong too! If your credits aren’t from a U.S. college, meaning they’re not in the U.S. credit database, they generally won’t recognize your "foreign credits." To have foreign credits evaluated, you’ll need a third-party organization (like a NACES or AICE member), but the process can be quite complex. Whether or not you disclose your foreign credits is your choice.
If you’re looking to have your UMPI diploma evaluated in Hong Kong, make sure you’ve studied for at least one year (three semesters); otherwise, the HKCAAVQ won’t consider your request to assess it as equivalent to a Hong Kong bachelor’s degree (QF5). But if you’re planning to immigrate to the UK, one semester (about 8 weeks) is enough for ECCTIS to evaluate it.
