I have yet to take any clep or DSST test as of yet. I am wondering how these test affect your GPA. Do you just get credit for the class as far as hrs? Or does the score factor into your GPA?

I currently have a 4.0 and may not want to take a chance if these test scores will lower it.

Most schools treat credit by examination as credits without grades similar to how transfer credits are handled.

Since there are exceptions, like Excelsior, Charter Oak, and Kansas State who do award grades for some DSSTs, be sure to double-check the policy at your college. K-State also gives grades for some CLEPs.
