Best place/easiest for English Comp I?
#11
If you're not going to go past the AAS, there's no reason not to take the CLEP Modular. If someday he wants to go further, it's easy enough to cross that bridge when you get there.

My kid needs English Comp I for his AAS. He's going to take the CLEP Modular. If at some point he wants to get a bachelor's degree, we'll figure out THEN what he needs to do. He can always choose a school that will accept the CLEP, or figure out another avenue then. No need to borrow trouble.

And that's perfectly fine, having said that... the OP needs to ask the friend, do you want to spend the extra time now to take the exam with essay? So for example, you need to take that extra half hour during exam time to complete the essay. OR would you rather wait till later and spend an extra 2-3 hours on the same exam, telling yourself (why didn't I do the essay the previous time). If your friend isn't writing adverse, being 'away' from college for 30 years doesn't cause him to "get writers block", there are ways to get past that anyways... as again, it all depends on the student and how they would do it, either way works, find what works for the friend.

I’m not sure about Olivet Eng 1 but the Olivet Eng 200 course was crazy involved. It is indeed only one paper, 7-9 pages, but the assignments getting to the point of writing the paper is super lengthy. I’ve opted to do Study.com, English 105
