Bringing in International Credits?
#1
Your Location: Victoria, Australia
Your Age: 45
What kind of degree do you want?: Bachelors - Flexible as to exact title. I tend towards Social Science or Business type things rather than pure sciences, Comp Sci etc.

Current Regional Accredited Credits:
Zero, Zilch, Zip, Nada

Current ACE, CLEP, or NCCRS Credits:
Sophia - Getting through them, currently 21 (Art Histories, US Histories, Greek Philosophers etc) but will plow through them as time permits.

Any certifications or military experience?

2004/2005 have some Australian undergrad subjects done. These were:

American Pop Culture, America in a Global Context, Criminal Justice System, Intro to International Relations, Australia and the World, Australian Legal System, Australian Comparitive Politics, Government Business and Society, American Politics.

All first year topics except American Politics which was 2nd. (Aussie Bachelors are 3 years) so this represents a full years work. In addition to these there were fails aswell. Wondering if its worth brining these in or would the fails and/or the passage of time make this not worth it?

Timeline and Budget: Im not in a rush, budget Im looking for value but not looking at the absolute fiscially most efficent method. Ideally I would like to maximise what I can bring in even and that appeals.

Commitments: Work full time.
Dedicated time to study: Hard one, I dont think I should consider anything in my working week and say 15/20 hours on my weekends. However that said Ive done Sophia courses while sitting on the couch at night in a couple hours so.

My gut feel suggests that TESU is the way to go for me? There is a suggestion on the wiki page that my credits might xfer in as the RA credits, and the ability to bring in just about everything kind of matches what I would like to do?

The fails won't mean anything since the schools we talk about here accept everyone. They will simply not count for anything or appear on your transcript at all. I would think a year's worth of credits would easily be worth the fees to have them evaluated for transfer.

TESU's strengths are the number of degrees they offer and that we can accelerate, and the fact that they are not a pay by term kind of place where you need to be maximize the number of credits taken per term. That means if you are not able to move quickly, it doesn't cost you more.
NanoDegree: Intro to Self-Driving Cars (2019)
Coursera: Stanford Machine Learning (2019)
TESU: BA in Comp Sci (2016)
TECEP:Env Ethics (2015); TESU PLA:Software Eng, Computer Arch, C++, Advanced C++, Data Struct (2015); TESU Courses:Capstone, Database Mngmnt Sys, Op Sys, Artificial Intel, Discrete Math, Intro to Portfolio Dev, Intro PLA (2014-16); DSST:Anthro, Pers Fin, Astronomy (2014); CLEP:Intro to Soc (2014); Saylor.org:Intro to Computers (2014); CC: 69 units (1980-88)

@Kangaroo, I suggest applying to the following degrees/institutions: Excelsior BSLA, TESU BALS, UMPI BLS and see where your credits go. Since you're not really particular in a degree, any of the 3 options would work, they'll take the foreign credits but you'll have to get those evaluated first. It may be best to list the courses you've taken, it may be worthwhile so someone can create a mock degree plan... Essentially, Sophia.org for lower level credits, Study.com for upper level, unless you're looking for specific ACE/NCCRS credits, there are a handful of providers.

Pre-Med Online, MSc Biomedical Sciences (Starting Jan 2026)
In Progress: UoPeople BS Health Science

Completed: UMPI BAS & MAOL (2025)
TESU ASNSM Biology, BSBA (ACBSP Accredited 2017)

Thankyou both. Given it would seem that the age of credits aren't an issue, ill get them looked at and see what comes of it!
