Has anyone taken this test yet?
I was scheduled to take the CLEP Principles of Accounting before it was retired and was in an accident and missed the deadline (double drats). So here I am ready to take Clep Financial Accounting so I can take a B&M class for Managerial Accounting. I have to have taken this test before 8/15 to be able to enroll in Managerial Accounting, so I have been on pins and needles waiting to see some feedback on this test. Any input would be helpful. This was going to be my first CLEP because I have experience with accounting, but I am nervous as a cat because if I don't pass, then I get to take a class for this too.
If no one has attempted, I guess I will be the guinee pig hilarious . I will provide feedback and hopeful a passing score  .

I am scheduled to take the Clep Financial Accouting test on the 8th of August down in Orlando during my vacation. Hope to pass this one, took the other old clep accounting last month and missed got a 48 missing it by 2 for six credits. Hopefully, this one might be a little easier. I will post feedback after I take it.

For those planning on taking the upcoming CLEP Financial Accounting test, might I make three suggestions to better your odds of success:
1) CLEP Financial Accounting official study guide:
2) DSST Principles of Financial Accounting official study guide:
3) The Official DSST Study Guide: This contains an overview of financial accounting and 90 practice problems:

Thanks for your input. I have downloaded the CLEP study guide and took the test. It has 47 questions. I managed to answer 40 of the 47 correct, so I think I am ready. I am going to try to take the test this week. I wiill keep everyone updated.

I too missed the Principles of Accounting deadline because I was evacuated from my home due to flooding.
I'm planning on taking the Financial Accounting clep and have been going on a TESC degree plan, although I haven't enrolled yet. The new catalog still has Financial Accounting listed as 6 hours credit with it counting toward both Financial Accounting and Managerial per the course numbers. Has anyone enrolled in TESC confirmed this with their advisor yet?
Thanks for any info.
Kind Regards,
Mark

Just took the Clep test for Financial Accounting and failed with a 45. Overall the test in my opinion was difficult. There was a large amount of questions on ratios, where to but debit credit, and a large number of scenarions bases on balance sheets and/or financial statements. I studied online, and read an accounting book, but that was not enough.

Sorry to hear you didn't pass the test. Shake it off and don't let it get you down.
What are your plans to earn the credit? Have you looked at LSU? That may be an option, (self-paced) and that way maybe you could move through it quicker to get to Managerial Accounting. (This is my plan if I don't pass.)
Anyway - keep your head up.

Don't let a failure get you down. Trust me, you are not the only one to fail an exam around here. Numerous members that have received their degree failed at least one, if not more, cleps, DANTES, or ECE exams. I failed Labor Relations by a small margin. So, I ended up having to take it this past semester with my B&M school, but turns out that I learned more from the class than I could have by taking an ECE exam. Just remember to keep your head in the game, and move on to the next exam that you need to continue your education.
