CLEP Humanities question.
#1
Hi guys,

I am about to take the Humanities exam on friday and have been preparing for it using the IC flashcards and Peterson's practice tests. As Imagined, the Petersons test are quite hard. I ended up getting 43, 56 and 61 in my three tests respectively.

One thing I saw in the Peterson's exam was the breakdown of periods in American Literature (Nationalistic, Revolutionary, Colonial, etc). I was wondering if anyone faced these type of questions in their Humanities exams and whether I should learn about these periods and authors in detail.

Thank you all in advance for your help and wish me good luck. If I pass Humanities, I will have graduated!

If you don't already have them, and especially if you intend to take more CLEP exams, then you should buy copies of the CLEP Official Study Guide and the Princeton Review Cracking the CLEP. You can probably get them quick-shipped by Amazon.com in time for Friday morning, and it will be worth the added shipping cost. The Princeton Review book in particular is very helpful for the Humanities exam.

I don't remember questions on those particular periods, but it's always good to be prepared. The Harlem Renaissance seems to come up on lots of these exams, so you probably ought to review which authors are associated with it.

Thank you guys. I think buying a book will be a bit too late now so I will look into Wikipedia and see what all I can learn. I will also study in detail about the Harlem Renaissance. Thanks once again.

Look at the break down from getcollegecredit.com website. It will tell you exactly how much each section is worth. I would just know major names and what they did, not necessarily movements. Although, there was some group this group by movement ?s, it never went deeper than that. I basically went in with a blindfold on and hoped for the best. The peterson's exams are way too hard for this exam, so don't weat it if you failed them. Good luck!
