CLEPs/DSSTs for civilians
#1
Okay - this is gonna sound super stupid.
Because I'm in the Air Force, for me to take a clep, i just go down to my base at the education office and tell em what test i wanna take. its free for me, i take it, get my results, and leave.

My girlfriend asked me if there was anyway she could take some cleps.
i see tons of civilians on here taking cleps - i know costs a little dough - but i was wondering how you guys are doing that.

Can someone tell me the process with getting started with this for a civilian?

Thank you!
Smile

She can take them at local colleges and universities, paying the test fee and another fee to the testing facility. Just have her contact the nearest community college's testing center (info can almost certainly be found on their website).

She may be able to take it at your testing center, she only needs to ask. Also, if she goes to CLEP Test Center Search
it will give her testing locations. Regardless, she needs to contact the testing center she is interested in attending and discover their policy regarding how much notice for tests, what the costs are, how to pay the testing center and the test provider [check, credit card, whatever], how many IDs and what types, when tests are offered, etc., etc., etc. This is my first reply; I hope it's helpful and accurate.
