COSC Financial Aid?
#1
Hey everyone! Had a question since I'm still relatively new to all this, and have never enrolled in a College so I'm unsure about this bit. I've been testing out and passed a few CLEP/DSST exams following KittenMittens COSC Business Administration plan. The overall cost being around $5000.

The main cost seems to be the two Capstone courses at $1,333 each. Because I'm testing out almost entirely, would it be possible that I could apply for financial aid when I enroll in COSC just to cover those two capstone courses?

Might be a bit of a stupid question but as I've never enrolled before or applied for financial aid I wasn't sure if COSC would approve it for just capstone courses when the rest of the credits are being transferred.

Yes, except know that you typically need 6 credits to qualify for part time, and 12 credits to get full time benefits (so half grant for 6 credits, full aid requires 12 for example). Not really cost effective if taking all COSC courses.

I took the required COSC courses and supplemented them with courses through CSU-Pueblo. So a COSC course and three from CSU each of two semesters to recognize the full potential of my PELL grant. It's called a consortium agreement.

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this).  Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

I've never heard of that! Would have been nice if the CC would have told us last semester when my daughter took courses at two places, but I guess when I asked about utilizing Pell Grant and they told me it can only be used at one school at a time, they may not have thought of mentioning a consortium agreement.

How does a consortium agreement work with the new Federal Aid requirements that any class FA pays for must be needed in the student's degree plan?

I am wondering for myself --I was thinking of how I have to take the Capstone at TESU and how helpful it would be to use my Pell Grant award towards it, but besides major/core SS classes (which I am planning to do via PLA Portfolio), there aren't any empty slots in my degree plan.

TESU will only do consortium agreements for courses they don't offer.
