With how it was explained to me, the capstone requires 2 8-weeks sessions and cannot be started in the same session as the cornerstone. So for example, Spring semester session 1 is cornerstone, spring semester session 2 is the first half of the capstone and summer semester session 1 would be the second half of the capstone. That is how my advisor has it set up for me right now.

That makes sense, since your capstone has 2 parts (16 weeks).(I think other majors, such as business, just have an 8 week capstone.) In summary, I believe the length of the capstone varies depending on your major.

Excellent information!  Thank you!

If one semester contains 2 terms, it seems like it would be possible to graduate in one semester.

rvm, nosey561 is right all majors other than General Studies can be done in one semester since they have 1 part capstone. Do note though that your original question was about general studies which has a 2 part capstone and can't be started until after the cornerstone. So it takes a minimum of 3 terms to complete.

You're correct. I did. Thank you for pointing out that detail that I missed. It's definitely something to remember, considering the time involved and COSC's fee structure.
