COSC simple program?
#1
Hi.  I'd like to present COSC to my nephew.  Knowing him, Study.com (or very similar) would work best.  He only has 18 college credits done atm (sorry I don't have exact classes).  I found these sample programs to be rather complex to present  https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/COSC_Degree_Plans
Does anyone know whether Study.com could be used exclusively?  TEEX is fine, I just don't want to say use these 5-6 resources to gather credits - too comlex.  Lastly, does anyone know if the BA General Studies degree says, "General studies"?  He might like that path though I'm going to recommend Business.  Thank you

Thank you. That lays it out. Wondering if Thomas Edison has a degree that would allow all study.com.  I know it will be a higher cost but this kid’s family was prepared to shell out real  money for local school. He’s just not into it

No school will allow you to transfer a whole degree from the same source. But you can get away with two sources. StraighterLine and Study.com is a common combo. For a business degree, Davar may also be an option.

None of the Big 3 will take everything from a single source.  But you can definitely limit it to 2 sources.

I might think ModernStates/CLEP for a bunch if he is interested in testing out, and then Study.com, or SL and Study.com.  Or even Saylor & Study.com.

I'd suggest since it's so cheap for a month of Shmoop, sign up and do Human Sexuality (don't even read anything. Just take the tests and guess. If you have common sense and studied health in 7th grade, you got this. I couldn't sleep one night and knocked it out on my phone at 2am.), Professional Writing (common sense communication. Super easy.), Media Literacy, History of Technology, Pop Culture Literacy, Bible as Literature, and because it's so short, maybe Holocaust Literature. You can probably do them all in a single month. Don't do proctoring - COSC doesn't care. Save your money. Get all that done in a month and you'd knock out 21 elective credits for $88. Best deal in town!

Thank you.  I'm also going to present my nephew with WGU.  It might be less complicated?

WGU is pretty straight forward and the undergrad courses can be completed about the same speed as courses at Straighterline or Study.com.

However, it is still recommended that prospective WGU students earn as many credits as possible (which is 90) via ACE recommended providers so when your nephew starts at WGU they only have 30 credits to complete, and that can easily be finished up in a single 6-month term.

One caveat... Shmoop courses are not accepted at WGU, nor are NCCRS recommended credits. So for WGU, it is important to focus on ACE recommended options like CLEP, SL, SDC, etc. Some providers, like Saylor and Study.com, offer both ACE and NCCRS recommended courses, so make sure to focus on the ACE ones.
Working on: Debating whether I want to pursue a doctoral program or maybe another master's degree in 2022-23

Complete:
MBA (IT Management), 2019, Western Governors University
BSBA (Computer Information Systems), 2019, Thomas Edison State University
ASNSM (Computer Science), 2019, Thomas Edison State University

The business program at COSC is actually very simple.

Complete the general education credits: https://www.charteroak.edu/catalog/curre...ements.php

Complete the business requirements:
ECO103: Macroeconomics
ECO 104: Microeconomics
BUS 201: Business Statistics
ACC 101: Financial Accounting
ACC 102: Managerial Accounting
BUS 120: Business Law
MGT 101: Principles of Management
ITE 101: Management Information Systems
MKT 220: Principles of Marketing
FIN 210: Finance Management
MGT 315: Organizational Behavior
BUS 499: Business Administration Major Capstone

Complete three additional upper level business courses.

Then take electives, being sure to have 60 total credits that qualify as liberal arts, 30 total credits that qualify as upper level, and 120 total credits. Use Study.com, Straighterline, Davar, CLEP, etc.

Take two online courses, the cornerstone and the capstone, at COSC.
I don't know what the future holds, but I know Who holds the future.
