CSU Global CBE in Information Systems Analysis and Design
#21
In my case, the exam also took exactly one week to be graded. I saw the grade on my unofficial transcript a day after the grade was posted.

A few more notes worth mentioning:
I too had 95 multiple choice questions, worth 1 point each. In addition, the 5 short essay questions were worth 5 points each, making up almost 21% of the exam's total (25 out of 120 points).

I could see a letter grade on the course portal page, but unfortunately the transcript only lists a passing grade of 'S' - (Satisfactory), C or higher.

Sanantone's feedback is spot-on regarding the exam's content. The online material provided will probably not be sufficient and referring to the textbook to ensure the learning objectives are met is highly recommended.

Depending on one's background, reading the text's 8 chapters in their entirety may not be required. Furthermore, I noticed that some essay questions relied on some of the external links provided within each module's reading material.

I should disclose that I have been in the IT field for a fairly long time, and my experience was directly related to the exam's content, so I'm probably not a good judge regarding the exam's difficulty (I was able to pass the initial 'Pre-Test' by a reasonable margin). Nevertheless, I agree with sanantone's assessment of the exam's difficulty level.

The prep material is well organized and presented. Overall, I liked the format and wished these exams were available earlier.

There were a few prep quiz questions that were worded incorrectly, and provided more than one possible viable answer, when in fact the quiz was expecting only one. I only came across these on a few rare occasions, maybe two or three times, and it didn't really detract from the overall quality of the prep material.

Even though CSU Global's proctoring service (Examity) offers 24/7 proctoring, I just noticed they require advanced scheduling (no "take it now" option for an additional fee like ProctorU). They're all booked for tonight, and I've gone ahead and scheduled an exam for tomorrow at 10 PM (that's the earliest time available). So if anyone is planning on using CSU Global's CBEs, be sure to book your exam in advance.

I only did the Pre-test so far, and I got a 48% so I really need to study. CSU Global's CBE system is good and pretty straight-forward, but I'm on a time crunch so I'll only be doing all the practice quizzes until I get a 100% in each of them and skimming through the material. I have another free attempt if I fail, so I don't mind risking taking this exam early.

Man, it's such a relief that they allow you a free redo. Takes a lot of stress away on that first attempt.

Good luck!

Sanatone mentions it in the first post of this thread, last paragraph I believe.

Nixi is currently going through the process, and just said above there are two attempts. I'm going based on their info since I never took one.

mednat also mentioned it in this thread on page 2.

Are these CBEs taken and graded on a semester based system?

No, they should be like a TECEP, you get a pass or fail, so when you send it to TESU, you just get credit.

They are like TECEPs in that they are scheduled within terms. The good thing is that you don't have to pay until you're ready to take them. However, if you don't take the exam before the term is over, your adviser will have to register you again. When I took my first test, I had to wait until the term started, but I think they will let you enter a CBE course in the middle of a term now.
