Has anyone heard of/had success getting financial aid either Canadian Govt or provincial govt for the Yourpace program? UMPI is eligible, but there are just 3 BA degrees that look like (and are likely) part of their traditional degrees by credit hour, etc. There's a specific form in Alberta to "Request Designation for Correspondence/ E-learning/Distance Study Program" that looks promising...just curious if anyone's had success in another province or just federally.

You need to check if the school is designated/approved first by the provincial student aid program. If it isn't, UMPI would need to submit the form to register with the provincial student aid program to be eligible. So you should contact the financial aid office at UMPI if there is one.
UMPI offers in-state tuition for Canadians so I don't think they will find it that strange.
In BC my understanding is that distance education is funded only if the same program is run in-person in some way. I interpret that to mean that the same degree requirements must apply for both the distance and in-person course, and that in-person classes do exist.

I got student aid in Alberta. I had them add the Bachelor of Arts in Accounting through their Request Designation for Correspondence E-Learning form. If your course isn't listed, just fill it out and ask your advisor, and they will set you up with who to contact at the school to get the signature. It only took a week or two to add on the Alberta side of things.
