Any cheap self paced statistics? Non-proctored preferably, or just proctored for the final. I saw one for BYU that required 6 proctored exams. That is insane.
Unfortunately Straighterline, Penn Foster, aleks, and Dantes exam do not appear to be an option for this course.

Why won't one of these options work, especially one of ALEKS Stats? I have seen EC Business majors talk about its acceptance, but your specialty may be different. I can find the thread if you need me to do so.

Sorry I forgot to mention I was looking for a friend who is in a more strict degree program at a private school.
So they probably can only do something that is regionally accredited.
I do plan on Aleks'ing my way through statistics personally.

I would advise he take it over the summer at a local community college and transfer into his school. Depending on where you live they may even have an online course. The summer sessions are usually 7wks and math courses extremely forgiving (open book/notes exams).

Central Texas College might have a self-paced course, but it would most likely require one or two proctored exams.

It is not cheap at around $600, but stats is a tough one to fill in this manner. I would go BYU, you can get proctored at the local HS or CC.

Are you suggesting someone could take calculus open-book and get credit for the course for future use (e.g. grad school requirements)?

If your community college offers calculus I would definitely look into it. (As well as linear algebra, discrete math, and differential equations if needed.) Take a look at your local school/subject on ratemyprofessors.com to get a bit of insight on the best professor for the course.
What I have found is they give great notes, go over quizzes prior to taking in class or hand out take home exams, and during midterms/finals most will allow open notes or open book. Although the work may not be easy the classes (grading structure) are designed in favor of the students. When taking courses online, you are sometimes given exams prior to due date/time so you have more than enough time to work though problems prior to submission. Just by the law of averages, if you show up to class and submit all your assignments the actual final exam grade won't make much difference, you would pass. Of course this is only my opinion and reflects both my and friends experiences. The community college I attended had a very well respected math department.
