CollegePlus ACE accredited courses
#1
I got this question about a course I took and figured I'd start a thread for this topic. Anyone who has, is, or is thinking about taking a CollegePlus course can post here! Big Grin

bluebooger Wrote:off topic

but what is this
CollegePlus course "Social Justice From a Biblical Perspective"
it sounds really interesting

First, here's the website: Courses | CollegePlus The courses are 3 credits each and are ACE-approved.

I took the "Social Justice From a Biblical Perspective" course and really enjoyed it. It consists of 24 lessons (you're assigned a reading, watch a pre-recorded lecture, and then use quizzes to assess your learning) and has Midterm and Final exams proctored through Remote Proctor.

The other available courses are "Comparative Worldviews" and "Community Service Learning." Each course is great deal at $297 ($397 for "Community Service Learning"), or less for CollegePlus students.

If you have any more questions, ask away!

I'm going to TESC (History major) and I believe these courses can go under Free Electives. I'll know for sure after I sent my transcript in (just finished the course last week).

Yikes, I hope not. I'd like to see these in gen eds for that price.

Oh, well Free Elctives is just where I'd had them filed in the informal template I have made up, because I'd already filled my Gen. Ed. Electives. So I'm not sure, they could've gone there.

I think what Jennifer means is that there are less expensive testing options to fill free electives-e.g., the Humanities or Social Science General CLEPs are worth six credits each or NFA or FEMA courses (unless something has changed).

Oh, ok. I mainly took the course because of the content Big Grin

I took the comparative worldviews course. It was VERY good, imho. I learned a lot about many different worldviews and their representative religions. It consisted of less than 10 modules, each with reading and lectures. The only grades were about 4-6 "reflection" worksheets and a final exam (remotely proctored). I am a CollegePlus student, but I don't think the grading system would be any different for a non-CollegePlus student.

Cool! I would've liked to take that but it would've duplicated the Humanities CLEP I took.

I'm not arguing with the content or why you took it, in fact, I'm all FOR taking classes based on content over ease of creating a degree template (not the most popular position here). My comment was just referencing that you said $300 was a "good deal" for a free elective. $0 is my favorite free elective price lol.
