Email from TESU
I have added the BSBA in Computer Information Systems program to your record. You are allowed to pursue this area of study as long as there is no overlap in coursework between the two areas of study. You must also complete all degree requirements for both programs before applying for graduation.
Neither of the Study.com courses Business 104 or Business 109 are approved. Do not attempt these options.
I have approved the TEEX courses and the CSU Global course, MIS350EX, Information Systems Analysis & Design. Please access your evaluation to view placement of these options. The CIS area of study requires 12 credits (or more) of upper level coursework.
Finally, please provide course descriptions for the CSU courses, ITS405EX and ITS415EX. This information will help me determine if they'll apply to your program.

Hmm maybe I will not be able to use in both. Since she says as long as there is no overlap.
As usual, the right hand does not know what the left is doing. It has been their policy for years that if you are doing General Management as a concentration, that you cannot get another concentration at all. If you want 2, then you can get CIS and Marketing, or Accounting and Finance, or whatever. 2 specific concentrations. But not GM and another one.
I would double-check with someone else on that to make sure you can do what she says, unless they have changed their policy VERY recently (like since Jan 1 or something).

I was also told that as long as there is no overlap, I can add GM to my BSBA as well (currently Accounting). Once it is added to my degree plan and okayed can they really rescind it?

To anyone wondering these courses are what I will be taking. They have been approved and this is what they will come in as. I am looking for 1 final LL course to take. I may try do Pen Foster intro to programming. I heard it was easy. They did not approve TEEX cyber security for everyone for the AOS.
The following options are approved:
Straighterline Introduction to Programming in C++ (COS-213)
CSU Global MIS350EX, Global System Analysis & Design (CIS-320)
Study.com, Digital Marketing (MAR-441)
TEEX Cybersecurity for Business Professionals (CIS-344)
TEEX Cybersecurity for IT Professionals (CAP-385)
Ed4Credit Management Information Systems (CIS-301)

How was the SL programming course? Do you think it's doable for someone with no programming experience?

I wonder why they would approve Cybersecurity for IT Professionals (CAP-385) but not Cybersecurity for Everyone (CAP-295)? You would only have 6cr of LL and 12cr of UL courses, so that's not the problem. They are both CAP courses, so it's not the prefix...
Actually, since you're at 17cr there, once you take a 3cr course, you'll be at 20cr, and they will bump 2cr out of the AOS, which would be one of the TEEX courses, so unless they accept all 3 courses, there's not much point to bringing in 2 of them.

Yes I am going to ask again about this. Also if I go over the limit can they really bump credits out of the AOS? The TEEX courses is the difference between me doing a UL or a LL for my next course. I'll ask them about this.
THIS IS WHAT THEY TOLD ME "The TEEX course, Cyber security for everyone, transfers over as CAP-295 and is not appropriate for the CIS area of study."

Have not started it yet. I can give you an update in a week or two when I finish it hilarious

Looks like the Penn Foster Intro to Programming course is no longer ACE approved as of 02/28/2017. Wonder if they'll renew it.
Maybe you could take the TECEP for computer concepts and applications instead.

Saylor has courses that might work (don't know the equivalencies on some):
Intro to Computer Science I (COS-101)
Intro to Computer Science II (???)
Management Info Systems (???)
Software Engineering (???)
Computer Communications and Networks (CAP-216)
It certainly doesn't hurt to ask, plus I could really use the info for my spreadsheet (both if they will work in the CIS AOS, and what the equivalencies are). Please report back if you ask and get answers.

Are these courses doable for a complete beginner, if taken in the appropriate order?
We are all on the same side here, trying to better our lives....so let's get along and help each other out.
