Take a look at your local school/subject on ratemyprofessors.com to get a bit of insight on the best professor for the course.NMJC appears to be structured much like this for Algebra.
What I have found is they give great notes, go over quizzes prior to taking in class or hand out take home exams, and during midterms/finals most will allow open notes or open book. Although the work may not be easy the classes (grading structure) are designed in favor of the students. When taking courses online, you are sometimes given exams prior to due date/time so you have more than enough time to work though a problem and submit. Just by the law of averages, if you show up to class and/or submit all your assignments the actual final grade won't make much difference, you would pass. Of course this is only my opinion and reflects both my and friends experiences. The community college I attended had a very well respected math department.
