Credit awarding for tests

Does anyone know when one receives credit his/her passing the clep/dsst? I am up against a residency requirement and I am not sure whether I should take the test well before the completion of my threshold residency credits. I guess my question is: will the school normally credit you the grade on the day in which you took the test? Thanks in advance for your responses!

CLEP and DSST mail the score to college (the one you specify) so figure at least 2 weeks for that. Once the school receives paperwork, it takes time for their bureaucracy to update your transcript.
