DAVAR June - Unlimited exams $99

More questions about Davar. I registered, and can now look at the courses/exams (thanks for the info). I wanted to look at Microeconomics, and downloaded the study materials & quizzes (I just clicked, wasn't sure what I was going to get). My first question is, what's to stop me from using this material to study with and then take a CLEP or Saylor exam and not pay for it? It is free so far, so I don't know when I would pay the $70.

And, will they let me download the study materials for every single course they have without paying anything?

Apparently yes, because I downloaded them all. The quizzes and powerpoint seem worthwhile. Other than that, they are just giving an outline of what's on the exam, and some suggestions.

On the Microeconomics quizzes, they're all funky - right justified and hard to read through. Are these what the paid-for materials look like, or are those different and I just have a "sample" or something?

You don't get any paid-for materials. You just pay them an "exam fee". On the unlimited exams page, they call it the exam fee.

Quick question, because I'm not hip to the Davar yet (haven't taken anything). It says Unlimited Exams $99, but I thought that you paid $70/course and then $25/exam. Does this mean that you're still paying $70/course, and then you don't have to pay the proctor fees for each exam you take? So you would need to take 5 exams to make it worth the money? Or should it really say "Unlimited Courses" for $99? If it's $99 for Unlimited courses, does this mean that you still have to pay the proctor fee for each exam?

Normally you pay a $70 exam fee to Davar, plus $15 to the proctoring service (or $25 if you choose the other service). $85 each.

With this June sale, you pay $99 to Davar and avoid all the $70 exam fees. You still pay the $15 to the proctoring service for each. So, more like Straighterline. $99 for the month, plus $15 per exam

The new Davar page says:

"If the course includes written assignments, they may be completed later than June."

"Deadline for payment is June 8th."

"Please allow up to 24 hours for your account to update after payment."

"In the event you don't complete or pass an exam in June, you will be able to retake the exam at the standard cost.​"

I'm going for it. I'll try public speaking first since I need to knock that one out anyway. Then on to corporate finance.

Does anyone have any feedback on the public speaking persuasive speech? Should I prepare something or will a topic be assigned? If assigned, will it be something awful like current events or something simple? How much time do I have to prepare?

I don't know. A practice exam? Some practice exams, so I don't have to master the entire book? Maybe that's the point... :willynilly:

You don't like RPNow? Why? RPNow doesn't need advance scheduling. If you do ProctorU, it's $10 more than RPNow, or $15 more with the quicker scheduling.

I live in an area with no reasonable high-speed internet choices, so I use the hotspot on my cell phone. It was my understanding that you basically record your test taking, then upload that package. It probably would time out, or I'd have to drive into town and use McDonald's wifi. Is this incorrect?
