Manga study guides
#1
Wanted to share a really good resource. I have to take biostats in a few terms. I figured I better get a good footing in statistics. I found this GREAT book- "Manga for Statistics". The Manga Guide to Statistics: Shin Takahashi, Ltd. Trend-Pro Co.: 0689145718911: Amazon.com: Books

I also am doing Saylor at the same time and reading the book just made statistics FUN for me. I actually enjoy it.

I think it might be a good intro before taking an SL, Saylor or ALeks course. They have other books. One of my peers has the manga guide to molecular biology and enjoyed it as well as the linear algebra guide!

Haha, that's awesome as I am kinda stalling in my current Statistics course from ALEKS.

Hope I will have more luck with this and practice. Thanks for the info.

There is also the typical manga love story alongside the statistics. It really is a hoot to read. Thank god for the Japanese and their crazy imaginations! I may get the whole set of books. My 10 yr old son was reading the manga statistics book. He is very much into manga (although he says if it was real manga I'd read it from right to left.) Not sure if he understood all of it but looks like he is getting a good head start!

They have Calculus and Linear Algebra, too! I might just buy the Linear Algebra one. I was going to do the MIT Lin Alg, and this might be fun.
