Hello,
Does anyone know if these instantcert study guides are good prep for the Dantes tests as well as CLEP?
Thanks in advance for your helpful responses.
Kindly,

Worked for me!
I only took two dantes, and the rest were CLEP, but I felt well prepared for those tests, "Here's to your Health" and "Fundamentals of Counseling."
I've found it helpful to use the search function on this board and check out what people are saying about specific dantes exams etc...
Good luck!

I believe that many of the InstantCert study guides can be used to pass the DSST tests. I have used IC to help prepare for four DSST tests: MIS, Civil War, USSR, Business Law II. Because I had prior learning in each of the subjects, I have no way of knowing whether the IC guides alone would have been enough. It is also possible that I would have passed without IC.
Personally, I view IC as part of my total study program, and I usually supplement IC with reading and some videos.
I have also used IC to help study for Excelsior tests.
Perhaps the major question is which DSST test(s) are you planning to take? Some tests seem to be easier than others and many test takers pass with only minor studying with IC. Other tests are generally considered to be harder and it is common to read forum posts that indicate the use of multiple study resources.

That's the way I approach it too. Even on the "easier" exams, I usually supplement IC with additional resources.
There have only been a couple of exams for which I have used SOLELY IC to prepare. However, there have also only been a couple of exams for which I have NOT used IC at all (no IC section was available for those exams).
If you want a basic passing score, you might be able to get away with using only IC for most exams. But if high scores and a high GPA are important to you, I would ALWAYS recommend that you supplement IC with additional resources.
I have taken 23 DANTES and 15 CLEPs so far, and IC has been absolutely fantastic. For the couple of exams where there was no IC section available, studying was much more difficult.
The bottom line is that if you just wish to pass an exam, IC will very likely get you there in most cases. But if you wish to ensure a high score, you should seek out additional resources to supplement IC.
Hope that helps,
