Davar Academy
#1
Hello all, looking to complete some credits, and Davar looks promising; however, being located in Japan, search engines don't really return much with regards to experiences folks have had using their services.

I'm looking for the unvarnished truth, as I've got 4 LL Arts & Sciences (must take 1 science for 2 credits minimum) and 6 UL general Arts & Sciences credits to complete for EC.

That said, I understand that the courses are "self-paced" and require that you schedule a test with Proctor U. Just looking to see if I should refocus my efforts on CLEP/DSST. I'm in the military and due to retire soon, so the race is on...
I've run into a roadblock where the credits I need aren't covered by the CLEP/DSST, as I've taken most of them in one form or another. The ones that remain available are the semi-difficult ones, which would consume a bunch of my time as I'm paranoid about passing them.

For reference, I'm decent at memorization and subsequent informational dump; however, I was working at Intro to World Religions DSST and got irritated, as the names are too similar when you're talking about Daoism or Confucianism. Intro to World Religions is the only DSST I can take for applicable UL credit that's left. I did manage to take and pass the Business Ethics & Society DSST about a year ago. IC was the only resource I used to take the test, but got I hit with a ton of questions about Kant that weren't covered on IC, and I was paranoid about passing.

Any insight to Davar and your relative experience is appreciated.

This is not insight for Davar, however since you mention Intro to World Religion I wanted to share that I recently took the course through Straighterline. You may want to look into it; it worked out great for me. Congrats on the Bus Ethics & Society BTW...I just passed that one a couple weeks ago.

Davar is new, they were part of Tor College Credits. TECEP exams are also taken through ProctorU. See if any of those work. UExcel exams are also offered at testing sites globally. See if any testing sites are near you. Personally I think taking an established test that you can use Instantcert or Saylor Academy to study for is a better bet (a few TECEP tests line up with Saylor).

Davar is not separate from Tor, they just renamed themselves. The old for site redirects to the new place. Search for reviews on Tor college credit.
