#1
Hi All!

I'd like any advice this forum may have as I seek to pursue a fastest and most affordable path to obtaining a Bachelor's degree considered to be an accredited university here in Colorado.

Addendum & Template:
Your Location: Colorado
Your Age: 40
What kind of degree do you want?: Bachelor's Degree (any area)
Current Regional Accredited Credits: Not sure
Current ACE, CLEP, or NCCRS Credits: Not sure
Any certifications or military experience?: I hold a Brazil Bachelor's Degree in Law and a license to practice law in Brazil, no military experience
Budget: Seeking most affordable path to a Bachelor's
Commitments: I have a full-time job (M-Fr 8-5) and family with two young kids
Dedicated time to study: 20-30 hours per week
Timeline: Seeking fastest path possible
Tuition assistance/reimbursement: Not sure

More About Me:
> Native fluency in Brazilian Portuguese
> resident of Colorado, USA (intend to remain living here here)
> hold a Brazil Bachelor's Degree in Law from an accredited university in Brazil (also have an apostilled and officially translated copy of my diploma and transcript)
> hold a license to practice law in Brazil (passed an exam similar to the bar and obtained my license)
> 17+ years' work experience in the legal, admin & finance fields

Seeking
> seeking a bachelor degree in any area as having one will provide greater professional opportunities for me
> an online school with flexible hours that I can tend to when availability allows
> seeking max affordability
> univserity/college needs to be considered accredited here in Colorado

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Welcome to the board, my neighbor next door is from Brazil! That's a great initial post without the addendum and template details I usually look for. Please update us with the info requested here: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...Area-works

My suggestion is to do the UMPI BBA with a concentration of your choice, if you really want it cheaper, easier, faster, the BLS with a minor or two of your choice. I would get everything evaluated, if you get a favorable evaluation indicating you have a RA Bachelors equivalent, skip the BA and go for a Masters instead.

Thank you! THRILLED I found this forum, thanks to you and the community. I just updated my main post with my readily known responses to the addendum and template (apologies) and intend to follow up with most specifics on my course transcripts from my Bachelor in Law later.

1) I'm trying to find the UMPI BBA you referenced at the https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Category:UMPI link provided but am only seeing BABA - did you mean BABA?
2) Can you please confirm UMPI is considered to be an accredited university by employers in the state of Colorado?

Thanks again!

Yes, it's the same. It's strictly a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration (BABA), but the title is sometimes informally shortened to BBA.

Absolutely yes. UMPI is regionally accredited, the most widely recognized form of accreditation. It's also a state university, and every state university is inherently credible. Furthermore, every state university is regionally accredited.

Yes, the BABA or BBA, it's referenced on their YourPace website nowadays as the BBA... UMPI is part of a larger public/state university system, they're perfectly fine for all case uses, such as further education, employment, immigration, etc. It'll be very similar to a public/state university in Colorado...

I understand why you might want a U.S. degree, but could it be a master’s degree instead of a second bachelor’s?

Have you considered the online or traditional campus LLM for foreign lawyers that leads to taking the Bar?

Another option is:
1. https://law.arizona.edu/legal-paraprofes...centration
2. https://asuonline.asu.edu/online-degree-...ional-mls/

In any case, you should have your Brazilian degree evaluated by a NACES evaluator as a baseline for ascertaining US equivalency: https://naces.org/members/
