Since you're from Texas and have lots of transfer credits, this is a good choice

Exactly as what I would recommend, you may want to decide from the different concentrations there are, but the BAAS with any of concentrations would require the same general education, electives, the concentration is the only difference (these are residency credits you complete at ETAMU). Good luck, have fun, I would review the two links and create a spreadsheet, you can also decide which concentration is more for you...

Bruh, that's a terrible suggestion. He's looking to get Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Licensure, which means that he needs a degree in Accounting to satisfy the numerous UL Accounting and General Business course requirements. OP, I'd suggest that you look towards WGU for the BS in Accounting to start your search if you are looking for a CBE Accounting program. You can also consider UMPI, but the cost will be the same as WGU and you will have less time to complete the 15-16 courses required for the degree. If you want traditional online (or in person) then UT Permian Basin has a great Accounting program for both the BS and MS levels with lots of great specializations.

True, but then again, the OP can do the quick Bachelors as they mentioned, add some Accounting classes as electives from Sophia.org and Study.com when they transfer to ETAMU, finish the degree. Then ladder that to the WGU MS Accounting degree, just make sure to review your state requirements in TX, as there are some differences in state requirements. WGU even has a page for this... Moreover, WGU is TX endorsed, there are about 10+ states that endorse them. Link: https://www.wgu.edu/online-business-degr...ogram.html

No need for a degree in accounting per se for CPA licensure. The need for credits in general business could likely be met with the Organizational Leadership courses, and the need for credits in accounting could be met elsewhere. Many people get to CPA with their bachelor's outside accounting.

I think in Texas you have to take some upper division classes in person to eligible to take the CPA exam.

Most states require a Bachelor's Degree and specific accounting and business courses. You dont need an accounting specific bachelor's if you have the specific needed courses

You guys in this thread are reccomending things that are absolutely not allowed by the Texas Board of Accountancy, one of the strictest boards in the entire country. First off, Texas does NOT allow ACE courses in any form, regardless if the educational degree granting insutition does. Secondly, in order to matriculate into the WGU MS in Accounting, you MUST have either CPA Licensure or a conferred Bachelors in Accounting, period. I know because I tried with a BS in an unrelated subjuct with lots of Accounting Courses and they denied me admitance. Had to get a BA in Accounting from UMPI in order to get in. ETAMU is a great choice though but for Accounting not BAAS. Otherwise you are going all around the world just to get accross the street.
If you want CBE, then WGU BS in Accounting and followed by the MAcc is a great path. You will need both in order to get all of the courses that Texas requires for CPA Licensure, as again, they are very strict and particular with regard to the courses they accept. Also, I would avoid any ACE courses through Sophia, SDC, or any other source as Texas won't count any of them for anything whatsoever. Alternatively, if you wanted to go a traditional route, you could do the ETAMU BAAS and then attend Austin Community College for their Poffessional Accountant Advanced Technical Certificate, although that program is four semesters long, so two years. But you have to already have a conferred Bachelors degree in order to even be admitted to that program, so that's a lot longer path than going to WGU.

Again, in the quotes Readers in TX need to "make sure to review your state requirements in TX, as there are some differences in state requirements". Essentially, find out those requirements and finish off them as needed for certification or licensing.
