Degree Plan Help Please - Considering anything

sweetcrabhoney Wrote:Found 2 plans...

by the way, i can think of more than 10 plans off the top of my head from the wikia that are up to date... my psych or soc plans, and a few of sanantone's plans (though they tend to be CLEP/DSST heavy), including Communications, History, Humanities, Liberal Studies, Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Social Science, BSBA Accounting, BSBA Computer Information, and BSBA Human Resources Management. I'm sure there are more. And those are on top of dfrecore's plans I mentioned above.

Completely agree with posts below that a BSBA degree would be relatively quick compared to other degrees being offered. It really depends on where your academic strengths lie. If you are the kind of person that can read mathematics as if it were your first language, I would really recommend looking at something mathematics related. Not sure about all the big 3, but i know TESU has a BA in mathematics. If this is not the case though... BSBA sounds good to me (I'm trying for a BSBA in computer information systems. Got 37 credits in roughly 2 months).

Business degree it is.

I'm not aiming for anything really. My career is beauty and fashion ; thus any degree can aid in the field.

Pretty okay with math just have to freshen up, write for 10 years so am good at that, made websites for over 300 clients for 10 years , can crochet a blanket in 3 days , cook awesome gumbo , read at least one book a month but I hated moby dick. Mom of two very hyper and annoying children that I love very much. Wanted to be a teacher in the past -- not any more.

It's just about finally getting it done so that I can push my diploma in my in law's faces... So yeah personal fulfillment and a " hahaha ... I'm smarter than you!"

HOORAY!

Figured out my plan ...

Going to get this degree Small Business Administration | Competency-Based Degrees | NAU-Extended Campuses

They allow 64 transfers.

So I'll do:

Shmoop: Homework Help, Teacher Resources, Test Prep 9 credits for history requirement

http://www.aleks.com / 12 credits for the math ; will let adviser tell me which ones.

Straighterline.com / I'd do the remaining core courses there ; english , science , humanities and the basic business course should be good. Until I get to the needed 64 credits total.

Should be able to finish all these safe paced courses in 8 months. I estimate the total cost being $1200 to $1500 depending on the books needed for the straighterline courses.

I'm assuming I can place all the courses into the ACE thing and just transfer it to the school??

Rest will be within the school itself. It says $3k for 6 months of unlimited courses. Should be able to do them in about 1 year. So it'd be $6k for that college. I might have to pay in payments.

Should take me just under 24 months to get it all done. I'll give myself 3 years just in case I get kinda busy with work...

Then onto fashion! Smile

You need to find out if they will accept ACE-recommended courses - just because they will accept 64 transfer credits doesn't mean they will take 64cr of ACE transfers. I would contact them first.

Alternative Credit Project - Northern Arizona University

It looks like they accept Straighterline, Pearson, Sophia, and Ed4Online. You would still need to check and see if they accept other sources.

I didn't notice before, but they accept ACP courses (a subset of ACE) and give you the exact ones they will take: Alternative Credit Project - Northern Arizona University

Shmoop & ALEKS aren't on the list, but it certainly doesn't hurt to ask if they'll take them.

Thank you sweetie , was going to call them Monday and ask; any option is better than paying a ton and taking a much longer time to complete the degree

... was looking for that darn page but couldn't find it before going to bed. Thanks for that. Smile
