		Hello,
I was wondering if anyone had a laid-out plan for the following degree:

WGU - BACHELOR OF SCIENCE - Information Technology
 https://www.wgu.edu/online-it-degrees/in...html#close
I have old A+ and Network+ certs that will hopefully renew with the Sec+ cert that I should pass next month. I will also obtain the ITIL Foundation shortly.

My employer doesn't have a set tuition reimbursement plan yet, but will reimburse me for cert material and exam fees. I was thinking of passing all the certs first, and then I wondered if WGU will accept credits from places like Study.com or Straighterline. Maybe I can reduce the WGU tuition this way.

Any help is appreciated. Many thanks!

If your employer won't pay for tuition reimbursement, but will pay for certs, then this is a fantastic way to get your WGU credits.

I no longer have BSIT completed with all the places you can get courses, but you can definitely use CLEP, DSST, SL, and Study.com (along with others) to get your courses for the GE's. WGU will take just about everything from ACE-recommended courses.

WGU pays for all your certification costs -- its included in the tuition price

I don't see the point in paying for a bunch of straighterline, dsst, clep exams, and IT certs unless you can knock off one full term of tuition from WGU

and since wgu is completely self paced you can probably do a lot of certs and exams in one term and save money that way

The poster's company pays for certs but not tuition, so it would make sense to knock out all of the cert's on the company dime and ensure a faster pace of completion at WGU to keep the price down.

I agree with jsd... This is what I would recommend since certs are accounted for by the employer, I would really suggest getting the general education courses done through the recommended providers, ALEKS for Math, StraighterLine/Study.com for the remainder.

There's a link to the requirements for the degree, verify the certs/courses needed and complete the corresponding ones.
You should review this and create a spreadsheet for yourself: https://partners.wgu.edu/transferguidelines
If there are no corresponding courses, then those set of courses would be the ones to complete at WGU. Just make sure to complete the most courses/certs as possible before you enroll - once you enroll, they won't take any more credits (not sure about adding the extra certs).
