I have re enrolled in college after 20 years off. I checked my MaineStreet and my credits look active but that was in reference to being valid in the year 2000. Does the credits automatically validate into my UMPI degree or are they manually assessed and ok'd?
Do the credits expire?

Credits don't expire, but they have to manually look through what you have and how it applies to whatever degree you want.
Did you previously attend a University of Maine location?

That's correct... It's the institution you're trying to transfer the credits to, they'll have the final say indicating these classes or courses are not 'current'. I don't think you have to worry much about that going with institutions we recommend on this board.
Hmm, anyways, you might be best off filling in the addendum and template, here to give us the quick update on your scenario, keep answers short and sweet. Link: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...Area-works

Yes I attended University of Maine Machias in 2000 (had credits transfer to there from previous schools) and they are in Maine Street. Happy to hear they will still be valid and at least partially transfer into UMPI!

UMPI is more alternative credit and transfer credit friendly, you should be able to transfer a max of 90 credits into the degree plan, you can transfer more into the UMPI transcript system, but only 90 will max can go into your degree. You'll then do the 30 residency credits at UMPI to finish off the degree of choice, depending on the degree you want, you may want to decide on the degree that may max your transfer credits.

UMPI took my credits from 1991. lol (I'm old). But some of them they had difficulty finding how they match up with current UMPI classes. Like my Intro to Environmental Analysis was not accepted for Intro to Environmental Science. The class I took simply no longer exists or something (even I tried to look it up).

Depending on where the rest of your transferred credits went and what fields are available to slot those requirements for those that match, the class you referred to... A probability is that they may have moved it to the electives if you have space in the electives.

As long as they count them somewhere, it is helpful. My community college in Maine did not accept any because they were over ten years old.

Yes, it went to elective credit, so it wasn't lost.
