Now that I'm going for the Penn Foster Credit and submitting a research paper instead of Writing and Research, I'm wondering if I should just take a single credit course so my GPA doesn't show up as 0.00 or n/a. Meanwhile, I don't feel like dropping $990 on a three-credit course.
Does anyone know if single credit courses at Excelsior will give me a letter grade?

If the course you are questioning is Infomation Literacy, it is posted as P/F at Excelsior.

I think an Excelsior exam might be the best option... I believe that is graded.

I think the Penn Foster course may come into Excelsior with a grade.
Did you take any courses at other colleges or DSST exams that would be graded when transferred into Excelsior ?
Excelsior computes 2 gpa's one for course work taken at Excelsior and ECE/Uexcel exams and one which is cumulative of all credits transferred in plus Excelsior courses, ECE's/UExcel.

Yes, I have lot of credits and solid GPA. But I heard that if you apply to a graduate school, the first GPA given is the Excelsior one. I would rather just pay an extra $200 or so and take an EXE exam in place of a DSST, ace it and get a 4.0 in that column.

Just checked my EC printout for my AS. It shows a B for my PENN FOSTER Information Literature -- with 1 credit, but not sure how they use it in GPA computations.
