Do you listen to books on tape/ipod?
#21
I usually listen to the audio books of previous books in a series when a new book comes out, this catches me up on what has been going on so that I'm not clueless when I am reading the new book. Sometimes new books don't come out for years, so audio books are a quick way to catch up on the story line before delving into the latest chapter.

I've listened to a couple of books that were nonfiction (Steve Jobs biography, Deconverted, etc.) but I can't get into listening to a fiction book. I tried to listen to Hunger Games, but it just wasn't the same. I'd rather actually read.

Myself and my 2 daughters listen to either non-fiction or historical fiction daily, for a couple of hours each day. I second the Teaching Company Great Courses. My youngest listens to Henty on CD every night. Anything by Jim Hogdes and Jim Weiss are great historical fiction. Usually Naxos does an incredible job of finding great voices for a good selection of classics. A student learns so much from listening to Shakespeare performed on CD after they read it, making it come to life. I listen to educational seminars/research/and theory.
You are asking a board interested in education, about a book focused on forwarding education. I say go for it!

I agree that the reader really makes a difference! Your book is in a very readable format-and no doubt YOU reading it would be a bonus!

Listening to non-fiction is my preferred study method for exams.

I just can't concentrate as well when listening. I have to read it. That way I can also speed up or skip or review sections as I need or want. Sometimes I like watching information via video.

I listen almost exclusively to non-fiction. My hairstylist came down hard on me about how often I was washing my hair, so now I take a lot of baths & listen to audio lectures/books. I also listen to audio books or will read a real book while at the gym on the bikes. I wish more gyms would put in wi-fi though, because my cell provider's network here is slow, so I have to find audio books I can actually download versus streaming.

BTW, does anyone know a good free audio source for learning abnormal psychology for the TECEP exam? The ones I was using were taken offline before I finished the whole series, and I'm still unemployed, so my budget is pretty much non-existent.
