Doctor of Executive Leadership - University of Lynchburg
I'm excited to share that I've been accepted into a new program starting this June! The program is designed to be completed in just one year through fully asynchronous coursework, which offers a lot of flexibility. Since this is a newer program, I’ll be sharing updates along the way about my experience and progress. Looking forward to the journey ahead!

Congratulations!
I find it interesting that Lynchburg University uses the "practicum" model combined with a project. All the best!

From what I understand, the Practicum Model applies specifically to the Emergency Management concentration. Since I’m in the Healthcare concentration, it appears we follow a project-based requirement instead. I haven’t seen any mention of a practicum in the materials for our track.

For the first few moments of reading this, I thought it was for VUL! Oops, until I read a bit further and it jogged the correct synapses...
Congrats on getting in! This seems like a very interesting program indeed, a year and 37 credits, at about $30K in tuition and fees...

Definitely not considering VUL—given its lack of regional accreditation and the fact that it’s reportedly at risk of losing even its national accreditation, I don’t view it as a viable option.
While this program is on the more expensive side, it’s offered by a regionally accredited, non-profit, brick-and-mortar university with a solid alumni network. Funny enough, a good friend of mine was part of the Lynchburg Hornets team that won the 2023 NCAA Division III World Series, which makes this choice even more special for me.

That's not a fact; it's an assertion that's out of date:

I mean, if VUL is not for you because of who accredits it, that's understandable, but there's no need for misinformation.

MA in Educational Technology Leadership, George Washington University
18 doctoral level semester-hours in Business Administration, Baker College

I wouldn't call it misinformation. Virginia University of Lynchburg (VUL) was indeed on probation with TRACS, which indicated concerns serious enough to potentially impact its accreditation status. While TRACS recently reaffirmed VUL’s accreditation as of January 2025, the probation period still raised valid questions. That said, I recognize some may still find value in the programs offered — but in terms of academic rigor and reputation, especially at the doctoral level, VUL is not considered competitive.

But what you said was: "the fact that it’s reportedly at risk of losing even its national accreditation", present tense, when we know that this is no longer the case. Yes, that's misinformation.
