Does anyone have a Matrix of courses that transfer to TESU?

bjcheung77 Wrote:Hey Y'all... JumpCourse.com - What happened to their ACE Recommendation?

I was revamping/updating my spreadsheet and wanted to check out the ACE Credit Registry for newer info and verify what's on my sheet.
For JumpCourse, their ACE Recommendation seems to have expired for all (10+) of their courses. At $149/course, they were "OK".
But the majority if not all of their courses are actually offered by Straighterline/Study.com already. They didn't have a single course that wasn't offered elsewhere for less.

I've already crossed out AlignDegree off my list, as some of their courses also expired and furthermore, it's $399/course. A bit rich for my
blood, especially when almost all their offerings are LL (lower level) and can be had from again - Straighterline/Study.com
Furthermore, I think AlignDegree changed their name to LowCostGenEd.com or something from a previous post. They did, but now they're back to AlignDegree.com (LowCostGenEd.com is nowhere to be found). And there are still a couple of courses that aren't offered elsewhere for less that you might want to keep: Cross Cultural Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Intro to Logic

I've also crossed out Lumerit (formerly CollegePlus) as I think they're more of a college course planning service and not a provider of courses. They do offer 6 courses, and you can't really find some of them anywhere else (Intro to Worldviews, Philosophy & Religion; Social Justice from a Biblical Perspective; Leadership & Management Comm (UL); Leadership Theory & Practice (UL); Community Service Learning: and Intro to Entrepreneurship). They are $297/course, not terrible.

Looking at my list, I am thinking of crossing out a few if they don't "lower their pricing" to match Straighterline/Study.com or at least get close.
I originally was going to cross out ed4credit as they were $300/course, until they dropped their courses to $195. The only reason I kept them on my list actually is because of the good Science Lab courses for $65 and $98/lab kit - it rivals that of Straighterline. It's nice to have some courses that aren't membership-based. My husband's company will not pay for providers who charge a membership or monthly fee like SL or Study.com, but they will pay for a course like Propero or Ed4Credit. So I'm keeping all of those types of courses on my list for these reasons.

Lastly, I took 3 courses from Penn Foster (some other courses are not ACE Recommended), Propero, Sophia and may remove these as each
offer courses but also at $300+/course when you can get alternatives from Straighterline/Study.com , I really hope all these providers can drop
their pricing and not "raise" them like Penn Foster did for their individual courses (degree students are at $79/credit, still a bit expensive). I keep PF courses on my list because sometimes people need a grade. Propero is the go-to provider if you want a degree in CJ (14 courses!). Sophia is fantastic as a provider, and they do have a couple of courses not found elsewhere: Developing Effective Teams; Art History; and Visual Comm. And again, all 3 of these aren't membership-based providers, which some people want/need.

Just some notes about the different types of providers if you're interested.

I forgot to mention, sometimes, it's nice not to have a short deadline to finish a course. I started an Ed4Credit course in January, and have had a bunch of stuff come up that pulled me away. I'm back to it this week, and should finish shortly. It was certainly nice to be able to put it on a back burner for a time, and then be able to get back to it in my own time, without it costing me anything. I couldn't have done that with Study.com or SL without it costing me an extra month, making it actually MORE to take the course than I'm paying.

Thanks, that's sad for them, pretty much what I was thinking though... anyways, now that helps in shortening my list at least!

Thanks for the feedback and info. Which course was that from ed4credit? Yes, I think their courses are up to 16 weeks (4 months).
And what are your remaining 4 courses for the BSBA HR? I'm looking forward to graduation, I just can't wait anymore (gasp).

I'm taking Managerial Accounting. It reminds me a LOT of the Financial Management course from Penn Foster. Very similar.

I like that you can take the exams 3x each, and that the Final is open notes.
