Is ENEB going to note on the transcript that the degree was earned under the new scheme? My concern is for those of us in the USA, where our degrees aren't fully recognized by FCEs yet. What value our degrees do have will be totally lost because of this, if ENEB doesn't make it clear that the people who choose this new (temporary?) option will have a notation on their transcripts that they didn't complete the traditional program.
If I'm off-base, let me know. I hope I am off-base. A two-hour multiple choice exam of 50 questions screams "diploma mill" to me. I am not okay with this. ENEB should either 1) offer the test per course; or 2) pause admissions until they're no longer overloaded; or 3) raise the price of the degrees to slow down enrollment.
But, employing degree mill tactics is not the answer. When word gets out about this, all of our degrees will lose value and come under additional scrutiny. We need to band together to let ENEB know this is a bad idea. Because, dollars to donuts, if this "scheme" is successful it's not going to be temporary. ENEB is greedy, and always trying to squeeze more money out of students for an optional this or that. I'm okay with that because their "extras" haven't affected the quality of my degrees. But, I fear that this new thing they're trying to do will negatively affect the quality/reputation of all their degrees.
ENEB is going to have to come up with some way to make it plain that this new option doesn't have the same respect and weight as the traditional/classic option. Otherwise, all the work and sweat that went into us completing the traditional/classic degrees will mean nothing, because they won't be distinguishable from the new ones. I am so pissed right now.
