Is it possible to get an Education degree like a lot of us have done/are doing with business (i.e., lots of testing out via CLEPs, DSSTs, FEMAs, etc.)? Since I'm headed into the business world (getting closer to finishing up my Accounting degree) I have zero knowledge on the Education side of things, but I have a friend that wants to get her Education degree so that she can teach but she needs my "help" to get her started in this whole world of testing things out/online studies.
So the questions simplified are this:
1. Is it possible?
2. Can she get both Elementary and Secondary at the same time?
3. Does TESC offer the degree? (if not, what online college does?)
Forgive me if my questions are "elementary," but I really don't know what I'm exactly talking about here. Thanks everyone!

The only on line college that I know of that gives an education degree is Western Governors University. It has the Pro of being on line but it does not give credits it gives competency units which do not transfer well to other colleges. They are RA and they do allow you to transfer in CLEP, DSST's etc. You do have to do student teaching to get any education degree with a license. WGU does not allow you to take courses anywhere else once you are enrolled. There may be other education degrees that you can do mostly through testing, but WGU does help you find a place to do the student teaching near you. What state are you in and does your friend have any credits already?

Thanks for your reply, Linda. We're in Montana, and I do believe that she has a few credits that she has picked up from the local CC.

I just called and talked to someone at WGU and I asked if they have a limit on CLEP or DSST credits, and she said that they don't. But then I was asking about which courses have CLEP or DSST counterfeits (for lack of a better word) and she was like, well, just look at the course list and the CLEP and DSST websites and see which ones line up.
Thats great and everything, but they're not called the same thing, so it's sometimes hard to know...
I've edited the PDF with the equivalent CLEPs and DSSTs. See what you think and if you have any suggestions (maybe I'm missing some)... Here's the link:
