Equivalent skill/courses for prerequisite (at BYU-IS)?

I'll almost certainly be doing one or two courses at BYU-IS as UL courses for the BA in English at TESU (ENG 315 Writing for Social Sciences and ENG 312 Persuasive Writing). Both have as a prerequisite:

WRTG 150 (Writing and Rhetoric) or equivalent skill; junior or senior status.

The Writing and Rhetoric course costs $579, which is a decent amount, especially since that amount triples with the two other courses. 

- What would be equivalent skill or courses that could be accepted as prerequisites?
- Would ENG English Composition I/II work?
- How strict are they?

This is their English 101 course, so as long as you've taken English Comp I, you should be fine (I would probably also take English Comp II first).
