Hi all, as you can see, I am a newbie! :o
After making some important changes in my life I have decided it's time to go back to college and FINALLY get my degree. I graduated from a CC way back when and completed some upper level college before calling it quits and joining the workforce early. banghead I'd guess I have earned about 80 credits or so to my name as a Communications major. I am highly interested in earning my degree online in Accounting now, however, and will do whatever it takes. The only thing I need now is to be pointed in the right direction!
After doing some research, I'm leaning towards starting with TESC. If anyone has any other options or pros/cons on TESC and Accounting major please let me know. So what I learned from a book that really helped turn my life around is find people that are doing what you want to do and learn from them, so here I am! Learning from the best!
I am looking for any and all help in achieving my goal and look forward to being a mentor for future degree seekers on this forum in the future (once I know exactly what I'm doing that is lol). Thank you all and sorry for the long post!

Welcome to the forum! You have truly found a wonderful support forum and I know you will find your answers. I too went back to school after a very long break and I can say without this forum I wouldn't have accomplished all I have in the last 18 months. I can't help you with TESC or an accounting degree, but I wanted to just wish you luck along your journey and welcome you to the board. Good luck!

Just a thought, if you're looking at becoming a CPA following getting your degree you may want to check your state's educational requirements prior to just selecting random coursework to complete the degree requirements. Some states are very specific, for example TX requires 15 of the 30 hours required in upper-level accounting coursework to be earned in the classroom and also requires an approved ethics course; also, to my understanding they require at least 1 degree, Bachelor's or above, to be AACSB or ACBSP approved, which would limit your grad school options. And like TX, many states are now requiring 150 approved credit hours before you're eligible to sit for the exams. This may save you some money down the road.
As far as TESC goes their customer service can be lacking but overall I was pleased with my experience with the school. There are hoops to jump through like with any public school, but to me it was worth it. Good luck with everything!
I m edumakated thanx to distunce lerning.

Hi,
I am going for a BSBA in accounting from TESC so I will help with whatever I can. I do not have the course break down with me now, but I will post it later on today. Basically it is the general education classes, some business classes and I think 24 accounting credits. I would be glad to help in any way I can, since I really benefited from this forum and it is now my turn to repay. Let me know if you have any specific questions.
Good luck!
