Hello!
I have been working in the IT field for many years, so it would be a waste of time (and money!) if I have to take "Database Management" and "Systems Analysis and Design" through EC.
Are there exams available out there for those courses? I read that ICCP certification could work but I'm not very sure, also that certification seems to be useless. May be a individual course from an accredited university?
Thank you very much!!

Some Microsoft Certifications are ACE approved and should be good at EC.
These are 2 semester hours upper level each:
Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Database Administrator, SQL 2005
Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Database Administrator, SQL Server 2008
Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Database Developer, SQL 2005
Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Database Developer, SQL Server 2008
These are 1 semester hour lower level each:
Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist: SQL Server 2005
Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist: SQL Server 2008, Business Intelligence Development and Maintenance
You could probably do one admin and one developer and get 4 hours. Check with EC to be sure.
Check ACE here - search for Microsoft under exams

Thomas Edison gave me credit for my MCDBA even though it was not ACE approved.

Thank you!!
I had already check thoses but they seem to be outdated (Microsoft does not provide those courses anymore).
Do you know if there is a self-paced online course in any accredited university where I could take similar courses? I don't mind the price as long as it is self-paced
Thank you once again

These are exams not courses. You must study yourself. You take exams at Prometric testing centers. They are still available.

Those exams are outdated. Take the SQL Server 2012 exams only. Explain to the school that the 2012 exams are updated, harder versions of the 2005/2008 exams.

The SQL 2005/2008 exams are ACE approved which many schools accept. The SQL 2012 exams are not. For your career the SQL 2012 exams are better. For college credit stick to the SQL 2005/2008 exams. Unless you get it in writing from your school that they'll take the 2012.

does ACE give credit for the exam or for certification ?
if you go here
TS: Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Database Development
and look at the "Overview"
exam 433
MCTS: SQL Server 2008, Database Development
is scheduled to retire on January 31, 2014.
also
exam 70-432 -- Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Implementation and Maintenance
would have given you this certification
Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Implementation and Maintenance
but that cert was retired July 31, 2013.
that exam would also have counted toward this certification
Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Database Administrator 2008
but as of July 31, 2013 it no longer counts
now that exam only counts toward this certificate
Microsoft Certified Solution Associate (MCSA): SQL Server 2008
Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Implementation and Maintenance

This isn't being offered yet, but you can see if it will be approved. I can't get the link for the course to work, this is a full list of courses. Click on System Design and Implementation.
