Hello,
I am living in Europe at the moment and am having a heck of a time being able to take a dantes or clep over here. So decided to fly to NYC and take a bunch of them there. I will probably stay a week or 10 days and stay in a youth hostel..
Anyways i have looked online and emailed alot of the sites but its hard to get a response. Are then any that you know of that test every day or at least more then 2x a month. I am finding that many test 2x a month...
I need a place that test several times a day and hopefully one that offers Clap and dantes.......
If you know of such a place please let me know....
If you live in another Eastern major city and have a flexible test site there let me know... I dont have to go to NYC

If your going to be in NYC...go to the Port Authority bus terminal (42nd Street) and take the PATH train to the New Jersey Journal Square station. Five minutes right across the river. Hudson County Community College is right next door to the bus/train terminal. Walk into the Student Services center and pay your 20 bucks. Get your receipt, then walk 1.5 blocks to the testing center, need receipt to get in, pay your 55 bucks and take your test. They offer testing twice a week all day long ON COMPUTER. Testing fees for CLEP: $20.00 to the college and $55.00 for the CLEP test. They also offer Dantes tests for I believe 65 bucks for the test and 20 for the college. They accept cash, US postal money orders, and credit cards (Mastercard/Visa). If your interested and you know specifically when you will be in the US, email me the dates and I will get you more specifics and their testing dates/fees.

RM I live in Miami, and the local community college, MDC, offers testing every weekday for at least 6 hours each day. This college actually has several campuses and I haven't tested in this campus, but this center is also supposed to offer DANTES. The problem is I've had trouble getting a callback from the person in charge of this exam. Site: http://www.mdc.edu/medical/StudentServic...efault.asp
The next closest DANTES testing center (that returned my phone calls) is NSU and is almost 40 miles north in Ft. Lauderdale, and they're very nice and flexible too, and I've taken 2 tests there in one day; they're untimed. You might even be able to take 3. Site: http://www.undergrad.nova.edu/academicservices/testing/
The only problem is that Miami/Ft. Lauderdale has a very poor public transportation system; although it might not be so bad from MB to Downtown Miami, where the MDC center is. Also, I don't think there are any youth hostels. I did a quick search, and found that there are some in Miami Beach, which wouldn't be too far from the CLEP testing center, but quite far from the NSU DANTES one. Hostel site: http://www.hostels.com/en/findabed.php?C...ountry=USA
Hopefully there are more appropriate cities.

Hey
Thanks for the info. I got a hold of HVCC but they only test one saturday a month! It seems alot of places are testing like that. I did find one in NYC that tests 3 days a week so maybe thats my best bet...
THanks for the info though!'

Sounds like a good idea, but how about going somewhere CHEAPER?? I am a NYC native now living in Tampa Bay, Florida where it is not only CHEAPER, but this time of year (or really anytime) the weather is better, the area is safer, cleaner, etcetera. I love NYC, but if I had an option to complete my degree "Cheaper-Faster-Better" I would stay far away from the Big $ of the Big apple. GOOD LUCK!!

Hey
Living or COLD Norway the idea of coming to Florida had already sprung up in my head. The tickets to Florida are a bit more then NYC, but i just figured that my best chance for testing was in NYC.
Thats why i posted this in hopes of finding another places to test. I had planned to stay at a Hostel in NYC which was about 20 a night..
TIckets as of now to NYC are 530 vs 760 for MIA
I will keep my eye out and see what else is out there

RM Maybe the ticket is more expensive to Florida (likely because NYC is usually the entry-point from Europe), but in the end, it might turn out cheaper. If you come fully prepared to take all your exams, and find a testing center that tests 5 or 6 times a week, then you have to stay LESS time. That's less hotel, food, etc.
Tampa might not be a bad idea. ShotoJuku, is the transportation system good there? In Miami there are buses, but it's certainly not as convenient as a place with a subway.

You might want to search CLEP and DANTES test centers to find centers that are close to each other in major cities, or even a center that tests both. You can look them up on Google Earth or another mapping program, and even figure out your transportation routes and dates before you even get there. You can usually find on the school website the testing schedules. Make sure to look for testing centers that administer open testing to anyone.
These cities have good train systems, and probably have plenty of hostels:
NYC
Boston
Chicago
Washington, DC
