Another one bites the dust... This school was on the chopping block by their accreditor for December. Apparently, they couldn't find ways to 'appeal' or fix their shortcomings, and decided in favor of closing instead... Ouch, don't know if they exhausted all avenues to stay afloat, but seems they've tried and failed...

Wow this used to be Nyack College. They rebranded to share their name with the church they're apart of. Interesting that they were losing their accreditation due to their finances. They've been struggling financially for over a decade. That's a long time to not be able to figure out how to improve.

I believe I read that finances are the biggest cause for accreditation loss. A lot of schools seem to find suitors to absorb them, so at least some aspect of their legacy survives.

I didn't know Nyack College changed their name. I knew they closed the Albany campus years ago. My husband read up on them when I told him they were closing. We were both surprised to hear this news. They left Nyack for a building in NYC and that seems to be when things started falling apart financially. I have to believe a campus in Nyack is way cheaper than a building in NYC.
