Fastest UMPI classes since the change to brightspace?
#1
Can anyone clue me in to what are some of the fastest classes at UMPI that are easy As? My little sister is trying to do some GPA repair and is going to take a semester at UMPI but everything I am reading is that it is much harder to speed through classes since brightspace and even harder to get As. Is this accurate?

Anyone have any feedback on what classes are fast and easy As?

So far, I'll I've heard is complaints that Professors are not grading assignments in a timely manner. But I think the point of UMPI is to finish a degree, not take a couple of classes to boost one's GPA. It's kind of hard to know the right way to go without a bit more information.

Fast and easy has ALWAYS varied from student to student. The courses drastically changed with the move to Brightspace and now the hold up is waiting for professor to grade and approve Milestones so you can move on in the course. Some are faster than others. PLenty of people struggled to earn As on Strut so that's no different.

I did History of Infectious Disease with Brightspace and it was quite fast and easy.

From reviewing previous threads, each class, professor, student, and other various variables will play into this. Having said that, History classes seems to be your best bet as the professor marks the assignments fairly and grading is blazingly fast. It really depends on what the student wants to study, sometimes the subject matter is of interest and they get through it much faster, other subjects may be a bore and thus they go slowly...

I would not say history classes in general are not quick. Poli Sci with Dr. Z classes tend to be much quicker though. Most of the history are REALLY long except for infectious disease/Arab etc. The main history prof is actually Dr. Sebold who is NOT a quick or easy grader.

As someone else pointed out, quickness and an easy A are going to depend on how well you already know the material. It is a CBE based program after all lol

Oh, I thought Dr Z was the History teacher... hmm, that's cool, it was the BA History and Political Science degree that was mentioned a few times if I recall correctly. Anyways, do your due diligence and research which subjects you're interested and take those after reviewing the board posts and threads...

Yeah it’s a weird hybrid degree. I don’t know why they call it that. I honestly think they should just split the two. Sure you can have a history concentration but it won’t appear on your diploma. Feels weird to have poli sci on the diploma when you only take 2-3 poli sci classes overall

They really should split into 2 separate degrees. That would make far more sense.
