Fed Set to Raise Rates Soon
#1
Fed fund futures predict a near 100% chance that the fed will raise rates at the next Fed meeting on March 16th.

Last I checked, there is around a 66% of a 50 basis point increase and near a 100% chance of a 25 basis point increase.

This will affect mortgage rates and CD rates that banks payout.

By June, rates are expected to jump up 100 basis points.

Some investors are calling on the fed to raise rates high enough to force the economy into a recession, pushing down inflation.

Does anyone have cash in the bank earning near 0% now?

Alliant credit union has decent rates on savings and checking (comparatively speaking, of course).

https://www.alliantcreditunion.org/rates

0.55% for savings
0.25% for checking

You can find better if you jump through hoops with Kasasa checking, etc.

There's some question whether the invasion of Ukraine might lead Fed policymakers to be more cautious this time around, but I suppose we'll see soon enough.

Putin may circle Kyiv with tanks, but he'll never gain the hearts and souls of the Iranian people.
