I guess I always wanted my master's to be in HR in some way, but I will check out HAU. I think I reviewed it before but it has been a while since I am getting back into the swing of things.

If you want HR on your resume/CV it is back to my certification recommendation I made to you on another thread (IT related). You would likely be better off getting SHRM-CP certified (or similar) - you can join SHRM at a discounted student rate and take the exam at a student rate. I'm assuming you already have some (even minimal) HR experience and would qualify - as committing to a master degree in a area that you don't have some work experience in could be a big risk (a master indicates a committed and chosen path).  There are many (low cost) study resources to prepare for the exam if you already have core work experience in the field.

If you do decide that you want the master in an HR related area (vs general MBA like the one through HAU), I still believe your time and money would be better spent working on that goal vs a 2nd bachelor.  Amberton (my own master alma mater) has a few HR related degrees at a reasonable cost (one course at a time, easy to work into your seemingly seasonal schedule). With that said, I'm very happy with my degree - but if the HAU MBA had been available when I started my own master degree - I would have jumped at it (a general MBA is very career flexible).  Alas, when it became available I was too close to finished to change my own master degree plan (yet, again!).

I am actually. a SHRM Student member currently. I joined last June. I have some experience with hiring currently, then outside of that, I am currently in a benefits position for health and retirement, essentially the duties of a benefits administrator in HR. So far in that Benefit Admins actually call us with questions on how to fix problems for their employees lol. So I am pretty good on the experience side. The original plan was to get an Associates, CHECK, get a BA, on the way, then a Masters in HR or an MBA with HR Concentration. I was going to get certified as well once I had time to take the exam. I have pretty much done all the free HR exams SHRM offers, per people replying last year on post...also did all the certs on Coursea in my 7 day free trial, just went to town like sophia lol.

WGU will be rolling out a MS in HRM this fall. They've announced it to current students. It's not on the website because it hasn't launched yet.

@learningthehardway, Hmm, interesting, you can continue on your current path and finish the UMPI degree then ladder to the WGU MS HRM if you wanted that route.

I am over here biting my nails nervous about the appeal board still. They meet next week and hopefully I find out if I am able to continue with UMPI or if I have to find another route. I ultimately picked UMPI because it is faster to complete and doesn't have a crazy capstone...those things scare me. I always hear horror stories about them from friends and family. Heck I had a Capstone in high school, which is only high school but almost had me stay back a grade so I am weiry of them. So I think UMPI was the school that didn't have one AND allowed me to move at a faster/slower pace if needed AND take all my Sophia credits lol. I don't even think another school will fill the same shoes.
