Fastest, Easiest and most cost effective Bachelors for a homeschool mom
#11
So, you're in a state of confusion and nervous about continuing...
Sometimes it's difficult with deciding what your path of least resistance is...
Sit back, relax, grab a drink and read on... There are so many choices!
Several board members are here to guide you through, cheap, easy, fast!

ss20ts Wrote:UMPI accepts pretty much every language for their foreign language requirement. If you click on the link I posted it will bring you to the YourPace website and you can see the different degrees they offer.

ss20ts Wrote:UMPI is very open and accepting of international students. The application process for international students is a bit different than US students. Nothing crazy though. You are in good shape to complete a BLS at UMPI. With the BLS you'd have your choice of 5 minors. You will need transcripts from Broward Community College sent to UMPI but that shouldn't be difficult. The only other math I'd recommend is College Algebra and you can take that on Sophia. I'd also recommend taking Intro to Sociology on Sophia, Spanish 1 and American Government on InstantCert, and Biology with Lab on Study.com. This is all for UMPI not Excelsior. If you decide on UMPI then you'll need to select a degree.

https://online.umpi.edu/

ss20ts has this pat down for you to the dot! This is exactly how I would plan this out as well, so get your Sophia.org, InstantCert, Study.com courses complete. You can then apply to UMPI and decide if a Management or Project Management minor would do, in fact, just like ss20ts, you can have both if you want, it depends on the number of courses you would like to transfer into UMPI and what courses interest you at UMPI. Take your time deciding while you're working on the Sophia courses.

The reason I mention this is because you need 30 credits, the minor is only 18 credits, 9 credits duplicate between the two, so if you complete both, it's 27 credits right there, you can finish English I & II and have met your residency requirements, the rest can all be transferred in. Further to that, don't rush on finishing in 1 term, think of it as an investment, you want more ROI/Value after you finish, you get the $ back after finding a better job or getting a raise, etc.

Below is the info for the ACTFL exams, for Portuguese and Afrikaans (I deleted all the other language options). EC will take as much as you earn, so if you score high enough, you could get almost all of your UL credit this way! So if you took the OPIc (Portuguese) and the OPI (Afrikaans) and the WPT (Portuguese) and scored the highest for all of them, you could get 18cr UL and 18cr LL, all of which would go towards your degree (Humanities area). Then, you would just need 6cr of UL from wherever you wanted to get the credit.

Anyway, here's the info:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can use LanguageTesting for Portuguese: https://www.languagetesting.com/lti/prod...ng_id/7264? All four types of tests are worth ACE credits for Portuguese. If you already have Spanish credits from somewhere, though, even better.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
