After wasting this entire weekend trying to understand my Principles of Finance IC study material, forum feedback, and a few study guides that some nice forum members sent me, I'm ready to throw in the towel. I just don't understand it.
So.. since Finance is mandatory for my degree, I am considering taking a good online self-study course. Something not too difficult and not a ton of homework. Any ideas?
I feel so dumb! This seems like something I should understand, but I just can't. I think I can't get over the fact that I have to use a BA II calculator or memorize more formulas than I can get my head around.
Wow.. after just passing Bus Law II, I felt like I could do anything and now I am really bummed out. I just don't think I can get this
Any advice or comments would really help.

Thank you. I've seen several financial management courses and was wondering if it was the same thing.
How difficult is this course? Lots of homework/busy-work?

See if you can get a hold of an old financial management textbook to help you study. Maybe the local CC library has one.

I feel your pain. First sign up for Penn foster if your college will accept it. It's all open book untimed at home testing.
Start reading a finance textbook concentrating on understanding the basics.
Remember accounting two, the managerial part where you calculate internal rate of return etc, that's what this class is about.
The great thing about Penn foster exams is that they can be looked at at any time so you can see what you need to study.

I think open book is important for me lol. I barely got through both accounting I and II and probably would have gotten even lower grades had the exams on SL not been open book.
I think I have a plan in place.. I'm going to do Money and Banking this week. I know I should probably do finance first, but in studying for M&B, it seems more like econ than accounting, and I actually liked economics.
After I do M&B, I'm going to do ECE labor relations. That will wrap up all of my business concentration credits except finance and allow me to enroll in my capstone course. ( I can have 3-6 outstanding concentration credits and still enroll in the capstone)
In the meanwhile, I have ordered a couple of finance books and the BA II calculator from Amazon. I'll take my time in March reviewing the book and try to do the DSST.
If I can't do it with a couple of weeks of study, I'm going to do the PF class and hope that I can get it done before May so I can graduate.
Thanks for the help!!
