How hard is it to prep for a DANTED over a few months and pass well?
I'm 16 and am prepping pretty well on the three CLEPS I've been working on.

Prep time for a Dantes is the same as prep time for a CLEP - it depends on how well you know the subject already, how interested you are in the subject, and your own preparation methods.

BSLS Excelsior College, conferred 9-09 started MS in Instructional Design program, Spring 2010 April 4 2009 through July 6 2009: 1 GRE subject exam + 1 Penn Foster credit + 11 DANTES exams = 61 credits. Average per-credit cost = $23.44. "Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending." (Maria Robinson)

The two I have taken (Ethics and MIS) were a bit more analytical and beyond the basics than your typical CLEP, because they are junior-year exams. If you're starting cold (i.e. no previous philosophy or other similar background going into Ethics, for example) it could be a bit more work. Over a "few months" I think you would have time to do any extra study needed.

It depends on the DANTES and it depends on you. Intro to Computers was a cakewalk as was tech writing. Substance abuse took some time to study and that's with the head start I had from many years of browsing erowid.org. I suggest making good use of the IC flashcards, DSST practice tests (prometric sells them for 5 bux a pop and peterson's has 4 or 5 subjects). Considering you're on a several month timeframe, you should be A-OK. Just make sure that you're comfortable with the material before you buy your plane tickets ;-)

No not 3 AM hilarious ,
I'm in Hawaii but I think I didn't set the proper time zone. I would be starting from nothing, I have a very good knowledge base in 3D graphics and movie based effects but that's not what I'll be doing in college. I'm going for a business based degree and whatever applies since I haven't looked past CLEP. I'll be use Peterson's, IC and a well rated physical book, something that is like REA. Right now I'm getting my feet wet with CLEP, but I'd like to slowly learn something DSSRT since my current objective is to do tons of CLEPS that will help my degree then when I'm almost 18(I'm almost 17) go to college. 94 Steve, that's the biggest reason why I'm taking my time. I have to spend a night at a motel, buy a ticket, if I fail it costs me time and money. And my mom keeps asking me this. Is it a written test? My hand writing is bad, it's better since I wrote my GED practice easays like two dozen times by hand but still it's not much past legible. |
