Fish and Wildlife Management options
#1
Does anybody have any recommendations for a fish and wildlife management degree or a type of natural resources degree? I'm searching for something that is 100% online at a decent speed and hopefully transfer friendly since I'm sitting on 80 Sophia Credits.

SNHU is alt-credit friendly and offers a BS in Environmental Science with concentration in Natural Resources & Conservation and BS in Geosciences with concentration in Natural Resources & Conservation.

In addition to that, if Environmental Studies is sufficient, you can take a look at TESU Environmental Studies degree. I think we have a WIKI for that, if not, there was a thread somewhere... One or more of our members completed that degree through PLA plus alternative credits.

Is TESU set up like UMPI or is it much slower and harder?

TESU accepts nearly 100% transfer credit, generally requiring only two courses in a bachelor's degree, a cornerstone and a capstone, be completed from TESU itself. So it's as fast or as slow as the credit sources you choose that apply to your TESU degree plan.

Not all institutions are equal, it really depends on how you look at things. TESU allows up to 114 credits transferred into their degrees, UMPI allows 90 max. TESU cornerstone and capstone are a bit more work but most can complete them in the 12 week terms, I would equate them to the same 30 credits at UMPI together and many can complete them in two sessions of 8 weeks (total 16 weeks). My question is, have you pivot from your previous post of UMPI degree? Link: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...nce-needed

I fell into a entry level fish and wildlife position with state government so that's why I'm considering the change.

OK, I see, you might be best off with the TESU Environmental Studies degree I mentioned earlier, if you have the energy, money, time, you can always do a double major, such as TESU BA Environmental Studies/BA Liberal Studies with a Natural Science & Math double major degree, or a dual degree, the BA Environmental Studies plus BSBA with an Area of Study of your choice.

I wouldn't bother to do BA Environmental Studies + a Liberal Studies degree. There's no real benefit to having a Liberal Studies degree when you have a named subject degree. However, having a BSBA degree + Environmental Studies might make you more eligible for a management position - if you're interested in that sort of thing.

For TESU specifically, you can see various degrees here: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Sa...ts_Roadmap
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210
