Foreign Language Credits via Portfolio?
#11
Is there a list how these credits come in? I only find a concentration on the site from COSC so that you choose it as concentration. Not as a bals?
Im still searching for the "catch". I cant believe i can use my motherlanquage.

Sweetsugar, you're killing me. Please click "reply" and not "new reply." I promise, it will change your life. (ok, maybe not your life lol)

Also no list and no catch - but when you do the exam you can report back how they come in Wink

Are you considering the test?

My daughter took the ATCFL  writing, speaking and listening tests for Russian, and scored between Intermediate Low to Intermediate High on the various tests. She got credit for the following courses (all courses were three credits):

RUS 327 - Advanced Conversation
RUS 220 - Intermediate Conversation I  (twice)
RUS 130 - Grammar and Composition I
RUS 101 - Beginning Conversation I

It seemed to be a fairly random evaluation (especially the duplication of Intermediate Conversation). However, the tests helped her get 9 credits she needed, and there was NO preparation.   She already had Elementary Russian 1 and 2, and Intermediate Russian 1 and 2 at a B&M school, so 3 of the test credits didn't count.

She was one Advanced course short for her degree in Russian, and I wanted her to take the tests again, but then the ACE certification expired, so she had to take Advanced Russian at a B&M school (pricey!).  BTW the literature courses were completed at Queens College, which has online Russian Literature. The culture/history courses were done by portfolio.
