Of course, this is not what I was told when I asked TESU! As usual, the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing.

I had to take speech for my second associate's degree. They didn't waive American Government (for civic requirement) for the BSBA. Luckily, I already had it. I just had to ask them to move it.

Straight from TESU's website:
Second Bachelorâs Degree
If you have earned a previous bachelorâs degree, and wish to pursue a second, you must complete a minimum of 24 additional credits in the area of study/core beyond the date your most recent bachelorâs degree was completed. You must also complete all the degree requirements indicated in the Thomas Edison State University Catalog.
Also, I couldn't find anything on their website about getting a GE waiver. Actually, I've never heard of that at TESU (from this forum). If you could show me where in the catalog it says that, that would be really helpful for people.

This appeared in the boilerplate of my eval from day one:
Student Remarks:
01/15/16 SECOND BACCALAUREATE DEGREE (PLEASE READ DEGREE RQMT INFO BELOW)
Students who wish to earn a second baccalaureate degree must complete
a minimum of 24 additional credits in the area of study/core beyond
the date the most recent degree was completed.
Courses completed beyond the date all prior degrees were completed
will be labeled as "NEW". Capstone courses can be considered as 3
NEW credits under this policy.
The University will not award a third baccalaureate degree.
Graduates of TESU who are returning for a second degree should note
that the capstone courses LIB-495 (for the TESU BA degrees) and
APS-401 (for certain BSAST degrees) are degree-specific and therefore
will have to be retaken and will count towards the required NEW
credit.
Based on University policy, all general education requirements, other
than those labeled as "DEGREE REQUIREMENT" will be satisfied based on
the completion of a first bachelor's degree from a
regionally-accredited US institution. Adjustments to the evaluation
will be made to reflect this once all transcripts have been received.
Our records indicate that you earned a Bachelor of Arts in Legal
Studies from xxx on May 20, xxxx.
Our records indicate that you have earned an AA in Business from
xxx on 6-01-xx.

I've never seen any mention about the GE policy on the TESU website. I was about to take speech when they waived it for me after I replied to the 2nd degree boilerplate.

GE waivers aren't automatic. It has to be done manually. The GE section will have missing stuff. You need to tell them that you have a BA degree and ask them to fix the GE for every single unmet GE requirement. They will put in a random course from the "other credits" pile.

I don't have that note on my evaluation. I wonder if it's because I earned my first degrees at TESU.

I think TESU may have changed the policy in July of 2015 for the 2015-2016 catalog. It might not apply to associates degrees.

I think TESU messed up, which is not a surprise to anyone here. It doesn't matter anymore since you met the GE with your associates.
The only other thing is to make sure you have 24 NEW credits post-ASNSM-biology. All degrees count, not just BA and higher.

I'm looking at my BSBA evaluation. I already have a BA in Social Science, but it's from TESU. I think I'm under the 2013 or 2014 catalog for the BSBA, though. It doesn't have the speech requirement, but it does have the added ethics and diversity requirements that weren't around when I completed my BA in 2011.

U Mass Lowell offers an IT undergrad degree specifically designed for those with an existing undergrad degree
https://continuinged.uml.edu/degrees/2ndbsit.cfm
This looks like a good option for those who graduated from one of the big 3 but are looking for more institution recognition.
FYI
University of Massachusetts - Lowell, MS Finance (current)
Lewis University, MBA, Finance
Excelsior College B.S. Liberal Arts, Admin/Mgmt Studies
