I am scheduled to sit the revised GRE the third week in January. For seasoned test takers who study exam construction as well as exam content, this site is for you. Magoosh covers both areas with over one thousand exam level practice questions followed by video explanations of how to arrive at the credited response. In addition, there are many short video
lessons covering every content area in the verbal & quantitative sections, as well as all levels of problem difficulty strategies.
As was posted already in this thread, time is the main adversary on this exam. Because the revised GRE is section adaptive and not question by question adaptive like the previous GRE model, you are allowed to skip through the questions in each section. This allows you to cherry pick the less time consuming questions in order to maximize your score. Easy or hard questions give the same credit. Because there are five sections following the two thirty minute
AWA essays, one unscored for test development, your score on the first verbal and first quantitative sections will determine the difficulty level on the subsequent sections. So, all totaled, there are seven sections which take almost four hours to complete.
My particular style of test preparation is piqued by test content in test format, i.e, real questions. Because the revised GRE has multiple response modes, you will be well served by practicing in the format you will see on test day. Check out Magoosh, you will be pleasantly surprised there is a GRE prep site at the level that Instantcert occupies in the CBE world.
