I'm not sure how these buildings aren't condemned. How can they pass inspections for permits and certificates of occupancy? Maybe Hunter College should start fundraising on their own instead of waiting for the state to give them more money. They're a CUNY school not a SUNY school so why is NYS on the hook?

CUNY is the New York State public university system in New York City, SUNY the state public university system everywhere else.

I live in NYS. I'm well aware of the differences between CUNY and SUNY. CUNY technically is NYC's public university system not NYS. NYS has legislative authority over it. It's just a hot mess. NYC is a problem for the rest of NYS. CUNY can't maintain the campuses they already have so why not open another? That's just what they did in 2018. Why do they need 25 campuses?
